Cactus Cup Shoot Out

Sun February 02 - 02:30 pm: Team Shoot-Out -Do not Leave!

SUNDAY 02:30 PM

RULES for the “TEAM SHOOT-OUT" for the CACTUS CUP TROPHY

Team captains and assistant captains will determine the following:

(1) Designated driver (tee shot only player), (2) Iron players that will hit all shots in the fairway and alternate shots,(2) Putters that will alternate putts (on the green only) until the ball is holed out, (1) Sand player that will hit any shot in any bunker, (1) Designated “chip off” player who will do any chip-offs to decide ties, and (2) “Wildcard” player, (1) IS A PUTTER ONLY. The wild card players can be called in at ANY TIME for any player but only once. Once he is called in to “re-do” the shot, chip, or putt, he will replace that player until they are eliminated or win. If your team has less than 9 players available, you will first sacrifice the “wild card” position(s), and then the official chipper, and the opposing team can select who will hit your chip in a chip off if you cannot field at least seven players. Important to inform your team of this.

The top nine teams will qualify for the shoot-out. Teams that finished seventh, eighth & ninth in the tournament will report to hole #17. They will go head-to-head, and the winning team will advance to hole #18. The team with the most points will get a 2-round bye. The team with the 2nd & 3rd most will get a one round bye.

Four teams will compete on hole #18, round one. One team will drop off. Three teams go to the 2nd round and the one bye team will join. Four teams will compete in round #3, one will drop off. Four teams will be left for round 4, and one will drop off. Three teams will compete in the 5th round on hole 18 and one will drop off and the final two teams will go head-to-head to decide the winner in the 6th and final round.

All rounds will be decided by a “chip-off” except the final round. In the event of a tie, the teams will do an alternate shot format from approximately 100 yards out. The lowest score wins. If this is Tied, there will be a “chip off” using the designated chipper and the sand player. The remaining teams will each have two shots at the pin from 2 different spots. The chippers will chip from a designated spot and the sand players will have a sand shot. The closest of the four shots will represent the winning shot and will be the first to hoist the Cactus Cup in victory!

Must play the ball down. The desert rule will apply – if a ball is hit into the desert area the team may elect to take a stroke penalty and play it as a lateral (where it entered). All decisions will be made by the tournament director- no exceptions and no complaints please.

PLEASE IF YOU ARE NOT A PLAYER IN THE SHOOT-OUT PLEASE STAY AND WATCH!
